Nearly two decades ago I became a rural property owner for the first time. Not because I planned to — it happened, and it changed how I see property.
What started small became a demanding 25-acre mountain property. I learned fast that remote rural properties are unforgiving. They have needs that a suburban handyman won't recognize. Systems that most inspectors have never seen.
I spent those same two decades doing enterprise systems work — the kind where complexity is assumed, failure is not an option, and the job is to see the whole system, not just the obvious part.
Those two things — twenty years of systems engineering and twenty years of personally owning and managing a demanding rural property — are not separate. They trained the same instinct: see the whole thing, find the real problem, fix it right, and document everything.
My clients are typically people who own a cabin, a second home, or a vacant property here in North Central Pennsylvania — and live in Philadelphia, or New York, or somewhere else entirely. They want someone smart, insured, and trustworthy. Not a neighbor doing a favor. Not a contractor who may or may not show up. Someone who will show up, know what they're looking at, report back honestly, and handle whatever needs handling — or coordinate the people who can.
I am licensed, insured, and based in Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
What You're Actually Getting
Wisdom, Not Just Skill
Anyone can tighten a fitting or replace a filter. The value is in knowing what to fix, what to leave alone, and what to watch. That judgment comes from twenty years of enterprise systems engineering and two decades of personally owning and managing a demanding rural property. It's calm, methodical, and precise.
Comfortable with rural systems that most people have never seen
Solar, battery, generators, private wells, septic, hydronic heat, off-grid infrastructure. Standard handymen have never touched these systems. I live with them. I understand them inside and out.
Troubleshooting Under Pressure
When the furnace fails at 2am in January, you don't need someone who panics. You need someone who's been there, who stays calm, who methodically works through the problem. That's what I do — on my own property, and on yours.
A Real Local Network
I know the plumbers, electricians, roofers, and HVAC people in this area — the ones who are worth what they charge. When a job is beyond my scope, I coordinate the right person, review their quote, and verify their work.
I Steward Property Myself
I personally manage 25 acres with solar, battery backup, generators, private water, outbuildings, forest, and waterways. I know what it actually takes to keep a rural property alive. I understand that responsibility completely.
Built on Trust
I'll tell you what your property needs, not what generates the most billable hours. If a repair isn't necessary, I'll say so. If a contractor's quote is inflated, I'll challenge it. Trust is the whole business.
